Too bad he only gives part of the story. One only needs to look to China, Cuba, and the old Soviet Union to see what happens when Capitalism is taken out of the equation. And, the good of the people is pushed as the agenda for change. Power is power and power corrupts completely no matter who is in charge. At least this democracy provides checks and balances in a limited manner which in retrospect is much better than just being shot in the head or disappeared when you agree with the tyrants in charge like China, Cuba, North Korea, etc. When will people learn there is no free ride. Nor is there a utopian society!

Comparing a populist government with China and what ended up in Soviet Union is an oversimplification

Although I agree that there is no such thing as Utopia, WE can get pretty close to it if we start holding accountable the private industry for their actions just like we hold or pretend to hold the government for theirs. If capitalism is needed for the advancement of our way of life so is the need for measures to control their abuse. For those who love history; Communism, Marxism and Socialism only became popular when the people couldn't see their way out. We are at a point where the people are losing faith and they will look and lend an ear to anything that sounds better than what they have now. If it is true that our government has let us down, it is also true that the private sector has also let us down. We have no one to blame but ourselves. We failed to demand and to hold the private sector to the same scrutiny as the government. We failed to device a system of check and balances for the private sector. They are reason why we are in this depression.

Domocrasy is a must but we dont live in a democratic society. we live in a society where the tell u that it is democratic yet secretly its a capitalistic union where our oficials are not elected but buy there way in to office, we sit around eating our tv dinners wile watching the 72 in pasma high def. complainig about the governmen and never realising that treu freedom is never free,, from time to time we must pay with the blood of patriats, in stead of hiding in our comfert zones

Like I said before, the rich buys investments, the poor buys stuff you don't need, so don't buy it, and invest instead, 20 years at 100 bucks a months, and you could have 100,000 dollars with the markets, watch sites like these instead of going to the movies, and save 100 buck instantly. Isn't that nice!

Did he really jusy say 20 years? 20 years????? Dude are you serious??? $100,000 ain't shit in 2009. What in the hell do U think it's gonna be worth in 2029??? This iz America man. Hell, in some cities the male life expectancy iz 25 years old. And you're talking like I kan look back 20 years from now and say, "Wow I'm really glad I didn't spend 100 bucks on that used XBOX back in Janurary 2010 cause now at 20 years l8r I have a hundred thousand dollars to spend. Yaaayyyyy!!!!" Don't you realize that now-a-dayz you kan hardly find a decent house for a hundred thousand dollars. Hell, I kan name at least 20 cars off the top of my head that'll eat up your 100K in the blink of an eye. Medical billz, rent money, college tuition, etc. 100K ain't shit. And it def won't be shit 20 years from now. Fool.

wow seriously i'm 17 and i know more about god damn money than you do these people don't have $100 a month to just set aside as if you even saw the movie at the very begining the people whose home was being foreclosed didn't have $100 why because they were trying to keep their god damn house and 100k ain't $hit not today and definately not 20 years from now hell if you've got the spare money lying around go ahead but that'll do it pay for your kid's college now adays 20 years from now maybe not but anyone with a head on their sholders will tell you they could use the 24k now then the 100k later now if you had $100 a month to throw around (save) you wouldn't be poor learn some basic economics

THIS MOVIE ALONE IS HELP PEOPLE BY ALLOWING US TO VIEW A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO A ECONOMIC STRUCTURE THAT DOESN'T CARE WHO GETS CRUSHED. YOU CAN SAY THIS IS AN ATTACK ON CAPITALISM...BUT THE CONSCIOUS MINDS KNOW THIS IS AN ATTACK ON INJUSTICE...A STAND AGAINST OPPRESSION.

He IS making changes with his movies. That is what he is good at. Making movies. If you ask him to do other stuff other movies, I betcha it's gonna be a lot less effective. As a film maker, he makes films. That's his way of making changes - get people thinking. If you have money, use your money for a good cause. If you have skills, then put it to good use.

If Michael Moore is against capitalism, then why isn't his movie free to everyone then? Why doesn't he accept a capped salary for being a movie producer? Because he doesn't have a capped salary and his movies are not free to view in the theaters he is a hypocrite. He will ride the capitalism train just as every other entrepreneur does. Capitalism spawns creativity and advancement. Where would we be if we didn't compete to make more money for ourselves? Stone ages still? Wake up people, look at the other countries that don't believe in capitalism and see how advanced they are or lack there of.

A question for all of you from someone who is unemployed, 21 yrs old and a college graduate... Are you willing to pay more for the ticket in order to increase the pilot's wage? I doubt it. You'd probably go to another airline. I'm sorry for those who take everything for granted.

I believe the economy should be like a street with red lights at the inersection were everybody gets a chance to advance. Right now the rich have a highway and the poor just look from the side and will never get a chance to be on the highway of progress

We all do like a paycheck but we don't like a rigged game. Bill Gates does. He eliminated all the competition by buying them out and shelving their product so his inferior OS could dominate. The better product doesn't win, the more selfish adversary does.
